EUCARPIA (http://eucarpia.org) is an association of scientists and breeders which, since its creation in 1956, promotes scientific and technical collaboration in the field of plant genetics and breeding, in particular through the organizing congresses. These congresses, first limited to participants from European countries, have become progressively international and renowned. The vegetable section, one among the eleven Eucarpia sections, is organized into crop groups, such as the Capsicum and Eggplant group, the first congress of which took place in 1971 in Italy. The 16th Congress took place in 2016 in Hungary (https://eventegg.com/eucarpia-capsicum-eggplant-2016), with participants coming from 29 countries.

The provisional programme of the 17th EUCARPIA Meeting consists of 5 scientific sessions:

  • Genetic Resources, Diversity and Domestication,
  • Resistance and Tolerance to Biotic and Abiotic Stresses,
  • Nutritional value, quality traits and yield,
  • Biotechnology and Genomics,
  • Pre-breeding and Breeding
